Who is HighLevel?

HighLevel (gohighlevel.com) is one of the biggest CRM and marketing platforms on the internet. It bundles funnels, websites, email and SMS campaigns, booking calendars, pipelines, reputation management, invoicing, and an AI Employee suite, and it is designed to be white-labeled: marketing agencies rebrand it and resell it to local businesses, including a lot of home service companies. Published plans run $97 a month (Starter), $297 (Unlimited), and $497 (Agency Pro), all month to month with a 14-day free trial and unlimited users.

The catch is in the meters and the middlemen. Calls, texts, emails, and most AI features bill per use on top of the plan, typically adding tens to low hundreds of dollars a month. The AI Employee, which includes its Voice AI receptionist, is pay-per-use or $97 a month per location on top of your plan. And many contractors never buy HighLevel directly at all: they pay an agency $300 to $600 a month for a rebranded copy of it, sometimes without knowing what is underneath.

As a marketing machine, HighLevel is genuinely deep, funnels, automations, and campaign tools that go well beyond any field service app. What it is not is field service software. There is no dispatch board, no crew tracking, no price book, no job workflow. Contractors who run on it usually end up bolting it onto an FSM anyway.

Who is Autopilot?

Autopilot is an all-in-one CRM built for home service businesses: junk removal, cleaning, landscaping, moving, and the rest of the trades that keep neighborhoods running. Plans start at $49 a month for scheduling, estimates, invoicing, payments, and online booking. Crew at $99 adds two-way texting and limited calling. Full Throttle at $149 adds the full phone system, AI receptionist, QuickBooks, GPS, and marketing tools. Plans include 1, 5, or 10 team members respectively.

It was built by a founder who ran his own junk removal company and got tired of paying for three tools that didn't talk to each other. Over 400 businesses run on it today, and it holds a 4.8 rating on the App Store and 4.9 on Google Play.

Against HighLevel, Autopilot's case is that a service crew needs job software first: one flat bill that already includes the phone, texting, AI receptionist, and the scheduling and invoicing HighLevel never had, with no per-minute meters and no agency markup.

The bottom line

Two different tools for two different businesses. Here is the honest split.

Choose HighLevel if…

  • You run a marketing agency and want to white-label a platform and resell it to clients
  • You need serious funnel, landing page, and campaign machinery beyond what any FSM offers
  • You run multiple brands or locations and want them in sub-accounts under one roof
  • You have someone technical to build and maintain the automations

Choose Autopilot if…

  • You run a service crew and need scheduling, dispatch, estimates, and invoicing, which HighLevel does not have
  • You want one flat bill instead of a base plan plus per-call, per-text, and per-AI-minute meters
  • You want the AI receptionist included instead of $97 a month per location on top
  • You would rather buy direct for $49 than pay an agency $300 to $600 for rebranded software
  • You want software a non-technical owner can run without a consultant

Switching from HighLevel takes an afternoon

Four steps, and our team does the heavy one for you.

  1. 1

    Export your customers

Pull your client list out of HighLevel as a CSV. Every FSM platform supports this, and it takes about five minutes.

  2. 2

    We import everything for you

Send us the file and our team loads your customers, jobs, and price book into Autopilot as part of free onboarding. No spreadsheet wrestling on your end.

  3. 3

Point your phone number at Autopilot

On Full Throttle, keep your existing business number. We port it or forward it, so calls start landing in Autopilot with recording, transcripts, and the AI receptionist behind them.

  4. 4

Run both for a week, then cut over

Your HighLevel account keeps working during your free trial. Most crews book their first Autopilot job on day one and cancel the old subscription within the month.

HighLevel exports contacts as CSVs from its Contacts page, and if an agency runs your account you can request your data from them; our team imports it for free.
